It’s not always easy to have high self-esteem at all times. We need someone to boost us, something to remind us of our worth and capabilities.
So here are some self-esteem journal prompts you can write down to boost your self-power and take your power back.
We’re humans and we do end up doubting ourselves at times, wondering if we can make it.
We feel fear. We feel sad. We feel we don’t have it in us. It’s hard to always be confident.
And it’s all okay.
Having high self-esteem doesn’t need to mean that you always have to put unrealistic expectations on yourself.
What ultimately matters is that you rise up again and you refuse to be defeated.
What matters is that you bounce back again and remind yourself that you’re not here to settle. That you’re not here to remain less than who you are. You are not here to accept less than you deserve. You are not here to play safe.
You are here to take risks. You are here to take bold actions.
You are here to become the most ‘YOU’ you can be and when you can be the most ‘YOU’, you will automatically have the highest self-esteem, highest self-confidence and highest self-worth in YOUR eyes because that’s all that matters for you to succeed.
I hope you enjoy and learn much from these journal prompts and get back your power.
But first, let’s know a bit about what is self-esteem and why it is so important.
What is self-esteem?
Table of Contents
Self-esteem is how you see yourself in your eyes.
It is the trust and belief you have in yourself, in your potential and in your worth.
Self-esteem is how much you value yourself which in turn determines how you treat yourself and how you let others treat you.
Having high self-esteem means that you trust yourself about what you can do in life.
You believe you are worthy, lovable, deserving and capable and you feel confident that you can handle life’s challenges without doubting yourself.
Whereas people with low self-esteem don’t trust themselves enough.
They don’t believe they can do something.
They have a hard time knowing they are worthy, loving and deserving and they always question themselves.
They feel that they need to earn love through hard work, achievement or through some external standards.
Simply put, self-esteem is what light you see yourself.
Do you see yourself highly that you won’t tolerate less than you deserve and you will never settle for less?
Or do you see yourself as undeserving and incapable so you end up accepting whatever you get even though it doesn’t fully satisfy you? You feel that itself is enough for you.
Why Self-esteem is important
Self-esteem is important because it determines everything- from our self-confidence, what goals we set, how our relationships are, what we accept in life, how we face challenges and how we see ourselves.
First of all, everything depends on our thoughts. So if you think you can do it, you can.
But if think you cannot, you won’t ever.
It is our self-esteem that determines what we think we are capable of doing, thus determining what goals we set and actions we end up taking or not taking for ourselves.
P.S Self-esteem Vs. Self Confidence
Second, self-esteem determines what we accept and tolerate in our lives.
It is good to be accepting of things and it is good to be able to tolerate the little petty issues in life knowing that it’s all temporary, but if we end up accepting things that are less than what we deserve and tolerate disrespect from others, then it means we don’t have enough self esteem.
Self-esteem is important because it determines how resilient we are in the face of challenges.
If we have high self-esteem, we will bounce back nonetheless. But if we don’t have enough of it, then we will succumb to depression and run away avoiding challenges and setbacks.
However, the good news is that self-esteem is not final.
What you think and what you believe about yourself can be changed.
Our thoughts and beliefs are not unchangeable. It is we who are rigid and never want to see if there is a new way to think and believe.
What is important is to keep on challenging our limiting thoughts and beliefs about ourselves.
To do that, here are some self-esteem journal prompts to help you.
Know that I am working on this as much as you.

It’s time to let it shine and become the real you, not a new you.
