To get back on track means to get back on track with life. It is to get back on track to your true self. It is to do what you believe you must be doing.
Even if you are not thinking deeply about life or personal development, I believe all of us want to grow. Deep inside our hearts, we all want to improve and do something really significant. It is the essence of being human.
But the journey is not so easy. There are obstacles. The obstacles are created by none other but our own lesser selves.
This lesser self wants to sleep more, get distracted more, and doesn’t want to be uncomfortable. It hates staying in the uncertain and craves quick results. But these days, I am going by the proverb,
I know when I am on track and when I am off track.
When I am on track I spend my days purposefully. I wake up early and make time for reading, writing, exercise, study, and prayer.
These are the things that I consider necessary for my growth. Whereas when I am off track I don’t intend to my days. All my routine gets destroyed and I end up spending most of my day distracted by my phone.
Earlier, I used to feel extremely disheartened over my weaknesses. I struggled with self-doubt for failing in my resolve midway. However, since last year I have been more aware of how this works.

So if you’re struggling with your resolve too, here is what I’d like to share on how to get back on track:
Start small
We often think that to get our life back in order and do something in life, we have to do big things and start big. But it is really not so.
It is really an accumulation of small achievements. So if you want to get back on track keep small goals. Work towards fulfilling these small goals and then level it up again and again.
How we set these goals are important because we end up making so many goal-setting mistakes and it is because of this that we don’t achieve them.
Here is a guide you will find useful: 5 common goal setting mistakes to avoid and 60 good monthly goals ideas you can choose from
Don’t Underestimate slow growth
When it comes to getting back on track with your goals don’t underestimate the importance of slow growth.
Rushing gets us nowhere. It only makes us impatient and aggressive. Instead embrace the power of slow changes, tiny improvements and see how easy you will be able to get back on track.
But what happens when you embrace slow growth? Read more
You will fail
The second thing I want to tell you is that ‘you will fail!’ so better come to accept it.
Earlier before starting any goal, I used to envision myself as completing my goals perfectly and be full of determination. I would feel like nothing would stop me.
But then, as it usually happens, something came up and I couldn’t achieve my goal in midway.
This Expectation VS. Reality would bring me down and I would end up forgetting about my goal, my intentions, giving it all up, and not wanting to do it again because I didn’t want to feel bad about myself.
But what I have come to understand now is that we WILL fail and fall many times. We WILL go off track. If we didn’t, we are already superhuman, and there would be no need to work on ourselves.
So now I start beforehand with the acceptance that I will fail sometime or the other. I realize that it is not only me, but a fact about being human.
No one person who has ever started has gone so far without failing even once or even a hundred times. This acceptance has made me accept myself better and has helped me to get back on track easier than before.
I don’t get disheartened anymore. When I fail in my resolve, I already accepted that it will come. What only matters are starting again. And if I fail again, since I have already accepted it too, I don’t give up.
Start again
So simply start again and get back on track.
“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson. And if you fail again, accept again and start again. Fall seven times. Get up Eight’.
Cherish your breaks but also be conscious
If it is certain that we will fall and we will go off track so why not cherish the breaks too. Earlier I used to feel guilty for not fulfilling what I had set out to do in my off-track periods.
However now, I am coming to accept these breaks too.
When otherwise I would have dwelled in these breaks indefinitely and feel guilty for days, yet not do anything about it, accepting these breaks and being conscious of how long I am taking these breaks has helped me get back on track quickly.
You can also give intentional breaks to yourself.
Allow yourself indulgence without feeling guilty but make sure you are conscious of how long you are taking your break.
Set in your mind how long you want to take your break. If not anything, just be strict with yourself about it. Make sure that these breaks are mini-breaks and not forever ones. Always remember to go back to your goals and start again.

Something is better than nothing
Remember this little adage if ever you feel that what you are doing is not enough. Having something to do is always better than not doing anything at all.
Exercising a few times a day is better than not exercising at all.
Reading at least 1 page a day is better than not reading at all.
Studying even for a half-hour every day is better than not studying at all!
If you only never give up, then you will soon be able to level it up and get back on track.
Pray for your goals
Last but not the least, if you really want to get your life back on track, Pray.
You might think about how prayer helps us get back on track, but you should know that we become what we pray. Prayers are only inner determinations.
Prayer is the time to strengthen our resolve and renew our determination. Through prayer, I come back to my goals and intentions again and again. It is the best medium to transmit our dreams and thoughts out to the Universe.
When I pray regularly, I am in touch with the things that I need to do. And I am beginning to realize that whenever I start to neglect my prayer, my enthusiasm also goes down and I tend to go off track.
Prayer is really essential for me as it is the best thing that keeps me on track and focused on my intentions.
Here is an elaborate post on how to pray and why I pray everyday
Hope this helps you.
Let us get back on track to purposeful things and make this world a better place.
Let us not the fear of getting off track stop us from all the things we can do while we are on track, on track with the Universe, with Life, and with ourselves.
lots of love.

Growing up we tend to believe in superheroes and have these powers to save the day but in reality, we will fail because we’re mere mortals the good thing is we can try and try again until we succeed.
