Hello dear reader,
Happy February to you!
One month of 2026 is already over, and January felt long and short at the same time.
It was my birthday last month, but the best highlight was bringing home a new kitten.
We found her on the streets of Kolkata in a miserable condition, and immediately knew we wanted to bring her home.
She is tiny, but so full of energy and life.
My two cats are back home with my mother, who isn’t letting me bring them here just yet, so adopting another kitty only felt obvious.
I’ve always lived with pets, and not having one feels like something essential is missing in a home.
Ever since we brought her, I’ve been filled with so much joy and happiness.
We named her Juliet because she has a little mark on her back that looks like a “J,” and we came up with J for Juliet.
Now everybody keeps asking, “Where is Romeo?”
We don’t know if she’ll ever have one. Lol.
Anyway, today I simply want to leave you with a question.
It’s a question I’ve been asking myself, too and one that I feel we need to keep returning to.
The question is,
What do you actually want?
How do you actually want to live?
Not in terms of having a million dollars, a BMW, or going on a hundred vacations, but how do you want your everyday life to feel?
Time moves so fast.
I still feel like I left college not too long ago, but it’s been over a decade.
This blog is more than five years old now.
I started working in 2019, and that makes it seven years this year.
There is so much constantly demanding our attention.
And if we’re not careful, we get pulled in too many directions, ending up tired, busy, and hurried.
And yet, when we really look at our days, we realise we’re not fully satisfied with how we’re living.
This happens to me more often than I’d like to admit.
And so this week, I’m asking myself this question again.
Just becoming aware of my answer helps me realign so I can adjust my time and actions accordingly.
Maybe this week, when I journal, I’ll ask myself every day and write down the answer to:
What do I actually want?
How do I actually want to live?
And maybe you can do the same.
I urge you to not just think about it, but write it down instead.
If you can, every day of this week.
xx
