For every new bloggers who has just joined Pinterest or has been in Pinterest for sometime has the same burning question- ‘How many pins to pin a day on Pinterest??’
You’ve created your Pinterest business account and have made all kinds of boards and have also started pinning.. but you don’t know if you’re doing it right.
Even bloggers who have been in Pinterest since a long time want to know this answer because most of them have been hit by the changes in the Pinterest algorithm and don’t know what Pinterest strategy is actually working in 2022.
I joined pinterest last year (2021) and the growth has been really steady. I wouldn’t complain because pinterest is the number 1 source of traffic for me even in 2022 where I get more than 100k pageviews with so many of my pins going viral.
So here in this post I answer all of your questions which you may have related to pinning on Pinterest.
So lets start.
How many pins to pin a day on Pinterest?

The first thing here you should know is that Pinterest really loves fresh pins. In simple words, a fresh pin is your own pin that you created for your own content.
Many people get confused by thinking that a fresh pin is a pin that you can make ONLY for a new blog post that has never been on Pinterest till date.
So many people think that they have to write plenty of new blog posts to start creating more ‘Fresh Pins’ with different URLs.
While it is true that Pinterest loves actual new content with new URLS and pin image, but it is not that you can’t create new pins for older posts.
For Pinterest, as far as I have come to know, a fresh Pin is any pin which looks different than the other (by just changing the image or layout or anything) even if it is for the same URL and even if it is for older blog posts which you have already pinned on Pinterest for a couple of times.
This means that if you have 20 blog posts already written and have pinned a few pins of it already, you can still make FRESH PINS for your older blog posts as many times as you want and Pinterest will love it because it considers it a fresh pin.
Pinterest only really cares whether it is YOUR OWN pins you are pinning, how many new pins you are creating, how good it looks and how slightly different it is from another.
So you can safely make new pins for your older blog post and pin it on Pinterest and Pinterest will consider it as a fresh pin.
Once you’ve created your fresh pins (whether for new or older blog posts), you should pin around 20-25 pins a day on Pinterest in 2022.
Out of this 20-25 pins, at least 10 pins should be your own fresh pins (no re-pinning).
Keep pinning more fresh pins to your boards everyday and you will see your Pinterest grow.
I know!! This means that you need to start making bulks of Pinterest pins, but here are some tips to help you create pinterest pins super fast.
And talking about boards, here the answer to another question.
How many pins should you put on a board a day?
You should try to put at least 2 of your own pins per board a day. Then you should also pin 2-3 pins of other people on that board.
If you have too many boards, I’d recommend deleting the boards which has had no pinterest activity since a long time and just focus on 4-5 boards.
This means that if you focus on just 4 boards, you need to pin 8 fresh pins daily (2 per board) along with other people’s pin.
Should I pin other people’s pins?
Yes you should pin other people’s pin in 2022. Earlier people used to talk about the 80-20% where 80% of the pins were of other people’s pin and 20% your own pins.
But now in 2022 I think it has changed to 50-50 or 60% your own pins and 40% others pins.
For every fresh pin that you put out, you can pin other’s pins along with it and it will boost your pinterest SEO.
Just make sure that the pins you are pinning of other people on your board are also about the same things you are pinning about.
And make sure that they are high ranking pins.
Can you pin the same pin to multiple boards?
In 2022, no, you shouldn’t pin the same pin to multiple boards. Try to pin one fresh pin to only one board.
But you can always make different pins for the same url by just slightly changing the images or font or layout and then pin it to multiple boards.
For example here are two pins for the same post which I pinned in two different boards.
How many Pinterest pins per blog post?
In the blog post itself you can have 1-2 pins which you must pin directly from the blog post.
You can make as many pins per blog post if you believe they can do well on Pinterest. And once they do well on Pinterest, you can keep on making fresh pins for the same blog post.
How often to post on pinterest 2022?
Pinterest is all about consistency. The more you are consistent on the platform the faster the results you will get.
Try to post pins daily on pinterest to your boards and if you can’t pin to all of your boards daily, then try to post every alternate days in 2022.

How often should you repin your own content?
Repinning is something I don’t do. I only create fresh pins and add it to my different boards. And in 2022 repinning is something pinterest doesn’t like very well.
But if some of your pins start doing well, then you can repin it after a gap of 15 days or so to your other relevant boards.
